USADF's Senegal Program

While the economy of Senegal grew more than five percent on average between 1995 and 2001, the benefits of such growth were unequally distributed. Significant disparities persist between rural and urban areas, between the private and public sectors, and between men and women.

USADF's country program provides Senegalese small enterprises with direct access to financial and technical assistance to assist them in generating employment and increased incomes for economically marginalized communities and groups.

USADF's country program focuses on i) reinforcing small and medium enterprise (SME) and wealth creation initiatives, ii) Local Resources Promotion (LRP) with private sector participation, iii) promoting exchange relationships with external partners; and iv) supporting best practices in local resource management.
