2260 Monrovia Emergency Relief Program, Incorporated (MERP) MERP provides technical and financial support to farmers to increase their productivity and pro-mote sustainable land use practices. ADF funds will enable 60 women from Dassalamu and William Farm communities to increase their production and reduce the labor requirements for production of cassava products, especially farina and gari, through the establishment of two cassava mills. The project will also promote the reforestation of savannah land through establishment of acacia and moringa trees for fuel wood and medicinal uses.

Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) 2011- 2011 $175,115 Aquaculture (Fisheries): DEN-L provides technical assistance using Participatory Diagnostic Methodologies (PDM) to facilitate group organization and empowerment among selected artisanal fishing communities in Southeast Liberia to help community members to identify and rank priorities for developing the sector based on physical and strategic needs (capacity/skill gaps), and to manage their activities sustainably. With assistance, the community groups supported will develop five-year community action plans and submit proposals to ADF for funding of economic development projects in their respective communities.
